Nature’s secret revealed

October 21, 2013 06:08 pm | Updated 06:08 pm IST

One of the most memorable experiences I have had is when I visited Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary as part of a nature study. This trip was special as it exceeded our expectations.

The place felt like a desert — hot and dry, but it was rich in flora and fauna and untouched by technology. There was no power, no phones and hardly any shops. The only advancement we observed was that a national highway ran through the forest connecting the states of Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

There was a beauty about the place that we got to experience when we went trekking. We saw deer, peacocks, giant squirrels, naughty monkeys and best of all, a large number of butterflies that fluttered around us. It was a wonderful experience! This trip also revealed a secret — the most beautiful, peaceful, rejuvenating experience is nature itself.
