Journey of hope

April 16, 2015 07:55 pm | Updated 07:55 pm IST

Once upon a time, there were two friends named Karan and Rohan. Both had a craze for adventure.

One day, they went to an island and decided to spend a night there. That night, there was a violent storm, which destroyed their boat. Karan and Rohan woke up the next morning to find their only boat missing. They were frightened, but didn’t loose hope. They believed that sooner or later they would be rescued. They had faith in god and themselves.

They made a house out of wood in the island. They lived on fruits. Three years went by. One day, they saw a ship passing by in the distance. Karan waved to them, but in vain. Then he had an idea. He removed his red shirt and waved it on a long stick. The captain spotted them, steered the ship towards the island and sent rescue boats to save them.

They returned safely to their homes.

We must not give up hope when we are in a difficult situation. Help will come to those who help themselves.
