Helping hand

When I was in Std V, I had a very memorable incident. It was night and my grandmother, grandfather and I were returning after a reception. The street lights were dim. We had bought bread, milk and onions. I carried packets of milk, while my grandmother carried the onions and my grandfather the bread. Then suddenly a vehicle went past us, very fast and close to the pavement. My grandmother was startled and jumped out of the way and fell down. My grandfather and I lifted her and managed to collect the onions and bread and somehow we managed to find our way home. We heaved a sigh of relief. The next day, we went to the doctor. He told us that her she had damaged a ligament.

These days, every time I come to that spot I remember this incident.
