It was a Wednesday, the fourth of April—my first day in Std IX. Like a mountaineer, who climbs and conquers high peaks, I was thrilled and looking forward to a year full of adventure. A new chapter in life was about to begin.
I was happy to see most of my friends, but missed others who were in different sections. I saw some new faces. Everyone looked quite confident knowing that they were in high school now. Even I felt somewhat grown up and responsible.
The best part of the day was being introduced to a fine and friendly class teacher. Her name is P.S. Suganthi. She was cheerful and asked us to introduce ourselves. She made our day.
