Young World painting contest on Dec. 4, 5

It is time to have fun with your colours and brushes, for The Hindu Young World painting competition is here.

This year, it will be conducted across 15 centres. On December 4, the contest will be held in Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Kozhikode, and on December 5 in Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Tiruchi, Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Bangalore, Mangalore, Mysore, Hubli and New Delhi.

As in the previous editions, there will be no entry fee or entry form for participation.

Intending participants (juniors from Class IV to VII and seniors from VIII to X) will have to send their painting, on a white drawing sheet (size 26 x 27 cm), on any one of the four topics given.

The topics for the preliminary round for the junior category are: ‘A busy road,' ‘A day at the beach or zoo,' ‘Reading is my hobby,' and ‘Your school playground.' For seniors, the topics are: ‘Pop music concert,' ‘A walk by the sea,' ‘Your classroom' and ‘Tree planting ceremony.'

The Hindu offices in the 15 competition centres. The entries for the preliminary round should reach the centres by November 20. Participants selected for the finals will be sent letters with details of the venue and time. MIOT Hospitals (CHIME) is the title sponsor for the competition.
