Preeti was tossing around in bed, feeling irritated. She looked beside her and saw her grandmother fast asleep. Preeti jumped off the bed and walked into the dining room with her torchlight on. She stepped on something mushy and fell into a dark room. She realised she was in her cousin Vineet’s room. Vineet looked pale. She noticed that the window in his room was open, and she couldn’t believe what she saw — a house floating in the air! A big tree also hovered beside it!

A gush of wind took Preeti away to that house. The house looked exactly like Vineet’s. Suddenly something tapped her lightly on the shoulder. It was a cute little fairy. “Why are you here?” it asked. “I was swept into this house by a strong wind. I would like to go home.” The fairy asked her to stand still and cast a spell. “Ippity, lappity cruise, send this girl to her house!”

Preeti woke up in her bed and heard her mother asking her to get ready for school. Preeti nodded and smiled secretly to herself, thinking of her dream. She was puzzled — was it a dream or did it really happen?
