Variety in my platter

January 10, 2011 09:25 pm | Updated 09:25 pm IST

Americans have porridge for breakfast, bread and butter for lunch and maybe spaghetti for dinner. But we Indians like some nice crispy dosas or hot steamed-cakes for breakfast, heavy food like biriyani and curd rice for lunch and round off the day with rotis and channa masala .

Would you like to have plain bread and butter when you can satisfy your tummy with a whole plate of pulao ? Then, why do we need to imitate the Americans — their dress, their lifestyle and even their food?
