Sri Venkateswara Children's High School celebrated its 34th annual day with the cultural show ‘RAANG 2010' recently. Around 1200 students performed 35 cultural programmes including Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, folk dance and break dance - all revolving around themes like discipline, patriotism, devotion towards parents and teachers. V.Hemalatha Devi, a professor of Law at S.V University, presented gold medal to P.Lalit Madhav, who scored first rank in SSC with 577 marks. Secretary K.S.Vasu, Vice-Principal K.Amrita, headmistresses P.B.Padmaja (high school) and H.R.Jyoti (primary school) were also present.

Kendriya Vidyalaya-1 observed ‘Communal Harmony Week' in response to the call by the National Communal Harmony Commission. Sandeepani Vidyalaya conducted {lsquo}Science Fair 2010' recently. D.C. Reddy, member of AP Science Congress and head of Department of Fisheries, Sri Venkateswara University, inaugurated the event. Students displayed 91 exhibits under six themes viz. health, teaching aids, transport and communication, agriculture, energy and pollution, besides 20 exhibits on Mathematics and 15 exhibits on languages like English, Telugu and Hindi. Correspondent P.Sudarsanam Raju, School in-charge P.Dharani and Principal T.Venkatramaiah Chetty, explained to the students and parents that the attempt was to unearth hidden talents in children. P.Balaji, retired Mandal Educational Officer, gave away the prizes.

P.Yurekha Rao and K.Thulasi Parvati, both std IX students of Sudhaha Little Citizens' High School, Tirupati, took part in the National Children's Day celebrations at Delhi conducted recently and spoke at the meeting on the theme {lsquo}Child rights'. The duo also took part in events like drawing, painting, dance and games and received accolades from the Union Ministers Kapil Sibal and D.Purandeshwari. The students were accompanied by their teacher S.Amuda. Headmistress J.Hanumayamma thanked Balaji Bal Bhavan Director P.Narayana Reddy, for giving this rare opportunity to the students.
