The play The Green Room that will be staged at 7.30 p.m. on Friday evening deals with the predicament of English-educated Indian artistes in this country. Aditya Sudarshan won the MetroPlus Playwright Award 2011 for this script. It is being performed by the Delhi-based theatre group Yatrik.

The story is set in the rarefied world of English theatre and explores the struggle of artistes to discover cultural legitimacy and their never-ending effort to reconcile big dreams with limiting circumstances. Dive into this knotty love triangle featuring a dissatisfied actress, her perplexed manager-boyfriend and a stranger from the audience who understands her because he loves her.

Tickets are priced at Rs. 500, Rs. 300 and Rs. 200. Student passes areavailable at Rs. 100. Tickets for all shows can be purchased at the venue (Sir Mutha Venkata Subba Rao Concert Hall, Harrington Road, Chetpet, Chennai) from 10 a.m. until the start of the performance this evening.
