The play “The President is Coming” will be staged on February 9 in the city

Theatre lovers in the city can look forward to watching a group of youngsters showcase their talent in the play The President is Coming , on February 9, 7.30 p.m., at T.N. Rajaratnam Auditorium. Produced by Crea-Shakthi, the play is directed by Amitash Pradhan and is being staged as part of the MYTF, Season-2.

Set in 2006, George W. Bush, President of the United States, decides to visit India. In addition to the many diplomatic and political things on the agenda was a rather unique event — a meeting with the young faces responsible for shaping “The New India.”

The six contestants are Maya Roy – India’s best young writer, Ajay Karlekar – India’s best young social activist, Archana Kapoor – India’s best young entrepreneur, Rohit Seth – call centre accent trainer, Kapil Dev – India’s best young stock investor and Ramesh S. – software engineer.

Meet a motley bunch of characters created by Anuvab Pal (of

Loins of Punjab fame) from across the country come together for a laugh riot.

The cast comprises Sriram Bharadwaj, Kaushik MV, Keshav TT, Punya Srikanth, Vinithra Madhavan Menon, Anjana Balaji, Siona Balaji and Vaishwath Shankar.

The play is not suitable for audiences under 16.
