The 188th monthly schedule of Sri Sai Kalanikethan, a dramatic body known for staging Telugu plays (Telugu) marked with dialogues framed as poems (padyams), featured Chintamani .
Scripted by Kallakuri Narayana Rao, the play mainly depicted how Chintamani though born in a family of professional harlots, with her conscious devotion to Lord Krishna attained liberation. It also brought out the hazards of the practice of harlotry. It was well directed by Nandi Award winner B.A. Naidu who also donned the role of Bilwamangaludu empathically. Golden Nandi Award winner K. Ratnakumari of Rajahmundry proved to be his peer acting the role of Chintamani and musically more proficient rendering the dialogues in the poetic verses.
Bagadi Vijaya Saradhi as Bhawani Sankarudu, Bagadi Vijaya Sai as Vesya Matha — Srihari, came out with good performances. Hasya Nata Sekhara title holder J. Tatha Rao Naidu hilariously depicted the role of Subbisetti.J. Kameswari of Kasimkota effectively presented the roles of Radha and Chitra. Ella Appa Rao on harmonium and Noor Saheb on tabla lent good support.

Stage management was well accomplished by B. Babu Naidu, T. Dali Naidu, D. Jagga Rao, E. Venkata Raju, T. Ramu Naidu and R. Kesavaraju.
Comedian J. Tatha Rao Naidu was also felicitated on the occasion.
