The Hindu Samaya Mandram (Ph: 94862 65202/90036 87402) has organised the Samashti Upanayanam, for the 36 year, on May 12, between 10 and 11.30 a.m., and the 21 year Sita Kalyana mahotsavam on May 19, at ‘Go’ ratha Moolai, North Chitra Street, Srirangam. The rituals will begin on May 11. The upanayanam on May 12 will begin with Ganapathy homam at 4.30 a.m. followed by Brahmopadesam at 10 a.m.
Sita Kalyanam will be held on May 19, 9-10.30 a.m. Kumbakonam Vaidyanatha Bhagavatar will perform the utsavam. Rendition of ashtapadi will take place on May 18 from 8 a.m. to 12 noon and 3-6 p.m. Divyanama bhajan will be presented from 9.30 p.m. The day-long event concludes with Pavvalimpu utsavam and Anjaneyar usavam at 8 p.m.
On account of Sita Kalyanam, a special upanyasam series, ‘Bhakta Vijayam,’ will be delivered by Sri Krishnapremi, from May 13 to 15, 7 p.m. and by Vishaka Hari on ‘Sri Narada Bhakti Sutram,’on May 16 and 17. For more details call
