Training on meditation

Sadguri Jaggi Vasudev, founder of the Isha Yoga Centre, will impart a special training on meditation at the National College grounds at Karumandapam in the city from Friday.

A total of 7,400 persons including 4,900 women in the central districts of the state had registered their names for the training and spot registration will also be entertained on Friday, said Swamy Prabodha, co-ordinator for the programme.

Addressing presspersons here on Monday, a special training on ‘shambavi mahamudra' would be the highlight of the programme. The training, he said, aimed at elevating mind and heart to a status of purity and perfection. The volunteers would undergo follow-up sessions periodically in future.

Swamy Rumata, co-ordinator, said that apart from meditation, the training would also include lectures.

About 10,000 volunteers benefited during the three-day training held till Sunday in Madurai. Next to Tiruchi, the session would be held for three days in Chennai from March 25.
