HYDERABAD: On the occasion of World Autism Awareness Day recently, 16-year-old Aditya gave a Carnatic vocal recital at YWCA, West Maredpalli. Trained by his paternal grandmother, noted vocalist Sarada Krishnaji, Aditya never let autism come in his way in excelling in the field. The house is full of musicians with Aditya’s mother Saradyamini being a post graduate in music and is his guru now. Despite his limitations in communicating, Aditya appears to have been made for music. He sang, Carnatic classical, bhajans and light classical songs. Apart from his mother, Sowmya Sreedhar and Kaivalyakumar, played a role in shaping him into a vocalist.
Though this was his first concert on stage, he sang like an experienced singer sans stage fear. Good spacing of swara and display of laya gnanam, spacing charanas when needed, display of confidence in essaying the raga and his approach for swarakalpana made one feel he found right track for his future. He had a pleasant voice, which was steady and sonorous. The most noteworthy angle is his display of enthusiasm. He presented on this occasion some popular numbers in the company of Saikumar on violin and Mallikarjun on mridangam with whom he found good equation right from his opening number Kambhoji varnam in Adi talam presented in two speeds like any seasoned artiste, with traditional approach. He displayed laya gnanam and shruti perfection. He followed it with traditional composition on Vinayaka - Gana Naayakam in rare Purnashadyam of Dikshitar.

Mayamalavagoula, Saranu Saranu in Jhanjhuti of Annamacharya Hari Sundara Nanda a Bhajan concluded his well managed concert.
