The vocal concert of K. L. Manaswini of Virginia, USA arranged by Swara Tarangini Sabha at Sri Sringeri Paripalitha Sri Sivaramakrishna Kshetram, Vijayawada was a nice treat to music lovers. Young Manaswini is learning her art through Skype from Guru Ganduri Srinivasa Murthy based in Vijayawada. Manaswini impressed with her chaste style and flawless rendition of sahitya and monodharma aspects that were in admirable standard.
Manaswini’s concert began with Natakuranji varnam followed with Mahaganapathim of Muthuswamy Dikshitar in Nata. Next she sang a beautiful composition of Bangalore Ramamurthy in Mohanakalyani. The lyrics in praise of Goddess Sarada Devi of Sringeri were complemented with a fine intricate muktayi swaram. Manaswini rendered the kirtana splendidly. Thyagaraja’s Pancharatna kirtana Sadhinchene O Manasa preceded the sub main item Himadri Suthe of Syama Sastry in Kalyani. Manaswini presented fine bhava-filled alapana and good kalpanaswaras in this kirtana. The Kalyani item was followed by a pleasing rendition of another Thyagaraja kirtana in Sriranjani Brochevarevare . However, the most impressive in Manaswini’s concert was the popular Samajavaragamana in Hindola. Detailed alapana and delightful kalpanaswaras adorned the kirtana.
Young V.S.P.G. Sivani’s violin support was also noteworthy. The teenager showed admirable talent in the manodharmam aspects. K.Anil Kumar gave good mridangam support. Manaswini closed the concert with
