Saraswathy Vidyalayam, a School for Fine Arts located at BHEL Township, Tiruchi, organised a music concert by Kadri Gopalnath at M.D. Hall, BHEL Township recently.
The programme commenced with a Thulasivanam kriti in raga Bahudhari set to Adi tala. The twists and turns which the veteran played were equally and effectively followed by Kanyakumari on the violin.
Next came ‘Kamakshi' a swarajati by Syama Sastri in Bhairavi set to Misra Chapu talam.

The raga vinyasam for Brindavani was delightful and was filled with beautiful karvais and rich sancharas. This was followed by Tyagaraja's ‘Kamalapthakula,' in Adi tala.
Here again there was a wonderful delineation of the raga and swaras in the solo segment by Kanyakumari.

‘Nagumomu' followed Brindavani at a fast pace and was superb with remarkable handling of the raga and kalpanaswaras by Kadri Gopalnath.
The tani avartanam by Harikumar on the mridangam, Alathur Rajaganesh on the ganjira and Tiruchi Krishnaswamy on the ghatam was rich and catchy.
This was followed by a Sai bhajan, ‘Kurai Onrum Illai,' ‘Silagu Katti Odi Va,' Meera bhajan, ‘Chinnanchiru Kiliye' (Bharatiyar song) and Magudi which thrilled the audience.
The concluding pieces of Arunagirinathar Thirupugazh – ‘Muthaitharu' in Shanmukhapriya and ‘Bagyatha Lakshmi' in Madyamavathi were enjoyable.
