Admission to an Advanced Diploma in Carnatic Music (vocal) is open. This is a three-year course and has two semesters (mid-July to November end and Mid-January to June end). Classes will be Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-12.30 p.m. It will be held at The Music Academy (ph: 044-28112231 / 28115162; New No. 168, T.T.K. Road, Royapettah. Applicants should be between the ages of 18 to 35, must have minimum educational qualification of +2 (successfully completed) and should be able to sing varnams and kritis with knowledge of manodharma sangita. Interested persons must send in bio-data with details of their music training. Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview by the Academic Council and those selected will be informed. The decision of the Academic Council is final and binding.

The Music Academy is also organising two workshops: Rhythmic Aspects: Tala, Laya, Gati, Nadai and Kalapramanam by Guruvayur Dorai on June 11 (10 a.m. to 12 noon)
Music Appreciation: by S. Sowmya on June 12 (9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.).

Registration fee for each is Rs.50. For bonafide students for both workshops the fee is Rs.50.
