Unique music festival

As part of its aim to set up of a performance arts initiative called ‘Arts 360°', Brhaddhvani's first ever festival titled ‘The Universe of Sound' will be held in association with the MCTM Chettiar International School (IB) on December 18, 19 and 20, at the school premises, Luz Church Road.

The festival will bring together diverse performers such as Aruna Sairam, Chitravina Ravikiran, Prof. Tiruchi Sankaran, and music educators including Frances Shepherd, David Reck and Woody Shaw III. Concerts will be presented by Manali and Sucheta, two senior scholars from ITC-Sangeet Research Academy.

The themes of melody, harmony and rhythm and the importance of creative collaboration will be discussed by these personalities on the mornings of the three days.

Sharan Apparao of Apparao Galleries will present a special exhibition on ‘Madras in December.' There will also be performances by young and up and coming city-based musicians.

Also, founder director Prof. Karaikudi Subramanian will welcome the new executive director, musician and management educator Anil Srinivasan, who will lead a team that will oversee Brhaddhvani's initiatives in diverse directions.
