Buy?: Why not?

An elvish beat, easy lyrics and a saxophone-dominated background score. Stacey Kent uses this and much more to transport you to a magical world full of sunshine and vibrancy; where you feel a decade younger and a lot calmer.

American by origin but fluent in French, her twelve-track all-French album ‘Raconte-moi' (Tell me) draws largely from nature and, stands true to the French stereotype, l'amour (love).

The album's first track Les eaux de mars creates a great first impression and immediately qualifies to be one of the album's best. The entire collection keeps up this tempo. But, some tracks are a tad disappointing, especially for those who know French.

Thanks to its uncomplicated tunes, Raconte-moi brings with it an unconscious smile and memories of days spent singing nursery rhymes. All in all, this album serves as wonderful white music and should be a permanent addition to your playlist if you want nice music as your companion. The beat and tempo get a bit repetitive as you listen. Also, knowledge of the language is essential to fully understand Kent's musical talent. If you speak French and you like light music, this one is for you.
