Investigation into ‘King of Pop’ Michael Jackson’s death has been completed and his physician Dr Conrad Murray will reportedly be facing criminal charges.

The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) completed their investigation last month and will submit the case to the District Attorney (DA) within weeks, celebrity website TMZ.com reported.

According to law enforcement sources, the LAPD investigation was “exhaustive” and “extremely thorough” and the DA has enough evidence to file a criminal case against Murray.

One law enforcement source connected with the case notes the DA has been actively working with the LAPD and it’s all but certain the case will be filed.

As for the charge, a decision has not been made yet, but sources said that its likely to be involuntary manslaughter, which requires a showing of gross negligence.

The case will be presented as soon as scheduling allows. It is expected to draw quite a crowd as a number of members of the LAPD and the DA’s office will be present for the hearing.

The pop icon had died suddenly on June 25 last year just weeks before his comeback concerts in London.
