City-based Brhaddhvani , a not-for-profit Trust formed by Dr. Karaikudi S.Subramanian, a ninth generation veena player, has announced a teacher-recruitment drive.
Setting its eyes on achieving excellence, Brhaddhvani is singularly focused on imparting quality in Carnatic music education. With this twin objective in mind, it has put in place a music education system through a research-based programme called 'Correlated Objective Music Education and Training' (COMET).
The idea is to connect with all art forms. In this process, it has sought to lay a strong foundation. Significantly enough, the focus is on addressing the individual's artistic needs. The curriculum is popular in over 15 schools across the city.

Selected candidates, according to a communication from the Trust, will be deployed to train children on COMET methodology by Brhaddhvani , and its partner-organisation. The selected candidates will be given intense training in the COMET methodology. Upon completion of their training, they will be placed in various schools.

Aspiring candidates should have completed at least school education, and should have undergone training in Carnatic music for a minimum of three years. They should have a deep and abiding interest in classical art. They should have a liking for imparting education to children. Fluency in English is necessary. If they are not fluent in English, they would have to undergo rigorous training in English, alongside music training at Brhaddhvani .
Salary
Once the training period is over and actual class-room deployment commences, the salary slab will range from Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 20,000, depending on experience, qualifications et al.
