Simple living and high thinking is the basic philosophy of Sujata Tibrewala. Being a software engineer wasn't enough, so she decided to explore the world of art to quench her real thirst. This US-based artist is having her solo show ‘Zara Hisaab Uthao-The his-story of beauty' at Lalit Kala Akademi in which she portrays a woman's journey through her canvases. The exhibition was inaugurated by Jaya Jaitley.

Three years ago, Tibrewala quit the IT world — she was last working with Cisco — to completely immerse herself in art and creativity. In her current endeavour which is her fourth solo show, the artist takes the viewer through different stages of a woman's life. In her painting ‘Finding strength', she draws a parallel between a woman and a Greek goddess. Like a Greek goddess, who consumes all the distress, a woman too takes the ups and downs of her life in her stride, feels the trained IITian from Kanpur.

Another work ‘Hope' depicts woman as the preserver and protector of her family. Quite a few of the paintings have the recurring motif of spirals, denoting the vicious circle of life that every woman goes through.
