The scholarship award ceremony, held recently at the University of Sheffield, U.K., witnessed Indian students being awarded scholarships worth over 63 lakhs. Each year, the university lays out scholarships worth over £2 million for international students enrolling for various undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
This year, the university awarded four India Postgraduate Merit Scholarships worth £7000 each, won by Jenitta Sharon Thomas, Nivin Das, Anahita Kumar and Indranil Adhya. Chennai girl Jenitta Sharon Thomas and Nivin Das from Kochi are pursuing MSc (Engg) ceramic science and engineering and MSc Engineering Process Safety and Loss Prevention respectively, in the faculty of engineering.
Anahita Kumar from Pune is pursuing a Master’s in Management at the Triple Crown Accredited Management School.

West Bengal boy Indranil Adhya who has enrolled with the medical school for MSc in Molecular Medicine said, “Coming to the University of Sheffield was indeed a big opportunity for me. In addition, the course I am pursuing is extremely useful for those who want to enter the field of non-clinical research. I look forward to a PhD studentship right after my master’s at this very university.”
Bangalore girl Manali Naik made the country proud by winning one of the ten coveted International Baccalaureate Undergraduate Merit Scholarships worth £7000 each.
The University of Sheffield has also awarded two India Undergraduate Merit Scholarships worth £7000 each to Chennai boy Ashwanth Raju and Arjun Singh Arora from Kolkata.

Ashwanth Raju has enrolled at the faculty of engineering for B(Engg) Systems and Control Engineering and Arjun Singh Arora is pursuing B(Engg) mechanical engineering.
