Former Union Minister Veerappa Moily awarding certificates to graduates of NMIT

Former Union Minister M. Veerappa Moily participated in the fourth graduation day of Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology in which 550 students were conferred the Bachelor’s degree in engineering.

N.R. Shetty, Chairman and Director of the institute, administered the oath. ‘Saalumarada Dyavamma’ of Koppal, who successfully planted 30,000 saplings in two decades, and K. Narayan Nayak from Dakshina Kannada, a former school teacher, were felicitated.

Inauguration

The inaugural programme of the first year B.E./B.Arch classes was organised at the Oxford College of Engineering, Bommanahalli. N.G. Raju, Head-Talent Acquisition, Tech Mahindra Ltd., was the chief guest. S.N.V.L. Narasimha Raju, Executive Director, Oxford Educational Institutions, presided over the programme.

The college magazine ‘Oxyzyne-2K14’ was also released. University rank holders and sports achievers were felicitated.

Internship

Nuffic Netherlands Education Support Office (NESO) India, an office of the Netherlands Education Ministry, is looking for final and pre-final year students who are studying in a reputed college in Bangalore and have plans of studying abroad as a part of their Student Ambassador programme.

The paid internship will provide a platform for students to exhibit their leadership, communication and marketing skills.

Selected candidates will work as Student Brand Ambassadors within their university or college by promoting Holland as a study destination. They will receive a personal letter of recommendation stating their achievements from the organisation, on completion of the internship.

Certificate programme

Stanford Graduate School of Business is returning to Bangalore with Stanford Ignite, the 11-week certificate programme for innovators and entrepreneurial thinkers.

Prospective applicants for the March 6 to May 24, 2015 programme may apply online by October 7, 2014. A release said up to 60 high-potential individuals will be admitted.

FTSE

FIITJEE will hold its annual Talent Support Exam (FTSE) on September 21 across more than 60 test centres in India. FIITJEE Talent Support Exam for aspirants of JEE, 2015 (XII studying / pass students) is an all India-level assessment exam where students will get to know their projected JEE ranks on the current level of their preparation.

With still time for the main JEE examination, the students will be able to analyse their shortcomings and work on them in a planned way.

The last date to register for the exam is September 16 through the paper application mode, while it is September 18 for the online mode.

The results will be declared on September 30.

The registration fee is Rs. 200. However, no fee will be charged from students who have enrolled for any JEE-2015 programme or those who are NTSE scholars, KVPY Stage-I qualified or have qualified any of the stages of Jr. Science Olympiad or Sr. Olympiads (in Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics / Astronomy) conducted by HBCSE.
