Delhi University (DU) has started a mobile application for DU aspirants, students and teachers. This fee app provides a full view of DU’s official website with contents like admissions, examinations, students and academics among others.

The idea of developing this app cropped up when the university authorities decided to hold a competition for making a mobile app where information provided would be precise and easily accessible. The competition ended on May 24.

The winning app has been developed by FgroupTech, an IT solutions company. The working prototype of the app was updated on the university’s website four days later.

The app has a size of 401KB and requires an Android version of 2.2 and above in mobile phones to be compatible. Apart from giving a fast access to the official DU portal, its other features includes detailed information on the courses offered by DU, quick access to results and all upcoming events, college list at a glance, emergency contact details of the university and the police.

The app also displays the women helpline number and anti-stalking cell numbers. Students are already awaiting its updated versions.

A lot of students now browse for any information through it rather than visiting the DU website.
