Students of Madras Christian College, Tambaram, now have a chance to learn Korean, launched as part of the 175th year celebrations of the institution, and also considering the vast need for young and men who know the language.
Indian students have the choice of learning Korean from an expert, and at the same time, English language training would be important to Korean students pursuing different undergraduate programmes in the college. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by A.W. Alexander Jesudasan, College principal, and Sooil Chai, president, Hanshin University, South Korea, last year, and language programmes were formally launched at a function in the college last week.
Lee Hwarang of Hanshin University is living on the campus to teach Korean to Indian students. The language course will be offered for 10 months commencing this month and four classes will be held every week.

Free scholarships are offered to 10 students from MCC who opt for Korean language and the best students will also be offered scholarships to pursue higher studies in their area of specialisation in Korea.
Twenty students from MCC have registered for Korean Language and about a dozen Korean students have registered for English.
