Recalling those good old days

Students of the 1985 batch of SIGA organise their 30th reunion at itscampus in Kilpauk.

Twenty-five bachmates attended the meet.

Old students of the class of 1985 batch of SIGA Polytechnic College, Kilpauk, held its reunion recently. The 1982-85 batch meets once in five years and this was the 30{+t}{+h}reunion of the batch since they graduated.

This year, 25 batchmates, three faculty members and dignitaries from the college took part.

The formal gathering took place at the class room in SIGA where the batch had studied. The programme was compeered by A.V. Johnson Victor. After the opening prayer by Fr. Rosario Krishnaraj, homage was paid to four people (two batch mates and two faculty members) who lost their lives.

T.I. Amalanathan gave the welcome address. An updated address book sponsored by Robert Joseph was released by Brother Julian Santi, instrumental in starting SIGA. A contribution of Rs.25,000 was also made toward building a hostel for the students. A total of 225 chairs were donated to the SIGA auditorium by the batch mates. Also, a scholarship worth Rs.50,000 for five years to two deserving students was presented to the Rector Fr. Harris and the Principal. B.Manojkumar David proposed the vote of thanks.

The group then left to VGP Universal Kingdom.
