Wielding the megaphone
Actor Prakash Raj donned the director’s hat for Dhoni, for which he came in for much praise. And, looks like the direction bug has bitten him again. He’s all set to remake Malayalam film Salt ‘N’ Pepper in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi simultaneously. He will also reprise Mohan Lal’s role as the lead from the original. The actor says, “I enjoyed every scene of the original, and immediately wanted a remake. The shooting will begin after Pongal, and I’m looking forward to it. The film revolves around two people dealing with mid-life crisis. It will be produced under my Duet Films banner.”

Actor Trisha has not dubbed for herself in her films, except in the likes of Ayutha Ezhuthu, Manmathan Ambu and Mankatha. However, she’ll be doing it in her upcoming film Samar, as requested by Vishal, her co-star in the film. “I was happy to dub. Director Thiru and Vishal were helpful at the dubbing theatre. It was a beautiful experience and I loved it,” says Trisha.

She made headlines with her fresh voice in ‘Shakalaka Baby’ for the film Mudhalvan. And, after her outing as an actor in Hey Ram and Citizen, Vasundhara Das disappeared. Now she returns to doing what she knows best — singing. She will be lending her voice for a song in the upcoming film Nadhigal Nanaivadhillai. The film’s directed by V.C. Anbazhagan. Incidentally, Vasundhara Das is the founder of Arya, a world-music band.
