Singer Sonu Nigam to perform in the city on January 13

One of the most popular singers of Bollywood, who is admired for his versatile vocals and emotional renditions, Sonu Nigam will be performing in the city on January 13 at Wesley School Grounds, Royapettah. The concert is brought to you by The Hindu and Madras Midtown Round Table 42 and presented by Kochar Homes.

Trained in Hindustani music, Sonu began singing at a very early age when he accompanied his musician-father on stage to sing Mohammed Rafi hits. ‘Acha Sila Diya’ from the 1995 film Bewafa Sanam launched Sonu’s successful journey in Bollywood.With the popular music show Sa Re Ga Ma on Zee TV, he entered people’s homes and hearts.

Sonu has sung songs not just in Hindi but many regional languages. He has also collaborated with Britney Spears, David Guetta and Jay Sean. He won the National Award in 2004 for his song in the film
