The hero of Innarku Innarendru goes by the name of Silambarasan, not to be confused with Simbu who now prefers to call himself STR. “We may change the hero’s real name to avoid this confusion,” says director Aandal Ramesh who has also written the story, screenplay and dialogue for Innarku Innarendru , his second film after Asami (2011). Innarku Innarendru is a triangular love story. Steffi and Anjana are the two girls in the hero’s life. “The hero is a poor boy who falls in love with a zamindar’s daughter (Steffi). His father, a caterer, falls victim to the zamindar’s evil ways, and the boy is forced to prove he is worthy of the daughter’s hand. The hero leaves for Chennai where he joins a distant relative who has been running an idli shop, without much success. The hero turns around the business leading to the fall of a successful eatery in the neighbourhood. That hotel owner’s daughter (Anjana) comes to eat at the hero’s idli shop and falls in love with him, though it’s a one-sided relationship. Does the hero reciprocate her advances or is he still in love with the girl in his village? That’s what Innarku Innarendru all about,” explains Aandal Ramesh.

Red Giant Movies’ new offering, Ithu Kathirvelan Kadhal, has Udhayanidhi Stalin and Nayantara in the main roles. Directed by S. R. Prabhakaran, the film has music composed by Harris Jeyaraj. “Just as with my first film Sundarapandian , I have written the story, screenplay and dialogue for this film too. The hero is a devotee of Anjaneya and a self-proclaimed bachelor, who after his college education devotes his life to the deity he worships. Along comes the heroine with an intention of breaking his vow of celibacy. Does she succeed? Ithu Kathirvelan Kadhal is a family entertainer where the heroine’s efforts to get the hero’s attention are portrayed in a comical way,” says Prabhakaran.
