Toppers in the Board exams can look forward to a bright future. This year, there's additional motivation what with actor Vijay inviting them to a feast organised by him in the city where they will be able to spend time with him.
Speaking after releasing the Thalapathy Anthem, an album made by some of his fans, at the J. S. Wedding Hall on Wednesday, Vijay, who has several movies with directors such as A. R. Murugadoss and Gautham Vasudev Menon, said, "From this year, I intend to invite the first three rank-holders in the 10th and 12th public exams from each district to a feast in Chennai. On the occasion, I wish to present them with gifts."
On the effort of his fans, he said, “I generally treat my fans as friends. I agreed to release this album as I was impressed with their hard work."

An unknown facet of Anjali came to light recently when the actor was the chief guest at a sporting event in Erode. Anjali, whose performances in films such as “Angaadi Theru” have been impressive, was a Kabaddi player in her younger days.
Said a source present at the event, “Anjali inaugurated a Kabaddi competition for women recently and even participated in a game at the players' request. She spent the entire day there and was often seen cheering the players. She even bought a cake for one of the players who was celebrating her birthday.”

Regarding films, she has completed her portions in Sundar C's “Masala Café”. At present, she is working on a film featuring director A. R. Murugadoss' brother and one in Telugu titled “Seethamma Vakatlo Sirimalli Chettu”, starring Venkatesh.”
Just for laughs
What can one expect when five people with a great sense of humour get together? Loads of laughter. Journalists attending a press conference organised to announce the status of director Ezhil's next film “Manam Kothi Paravai”, featuring actor Sivakarthikeyan and newcomer Athmeeya Rajan in the lead, had a good time as the speeches of actors Srinath, Suri, Chaaums, Singam Puli and Sivakarthikeyan were laced with wit and humour.
Sample this: Chaaums, who began his speech with a joke, said, “They have eight chairs here and made 80 people sit on them. I don't know on whose lap I am sitting and who is sitting on mine. Srinath and I have played the role of Bombay brothers in this film. We intended to speak in Hindi in this film, but finally gave up the idea. We only spoke two words or at least that was what I thought until I got to know moments back that even those two words weren't Hindi.”
Sivakarthikeyan, known for his sense of humour, said, “The film is a romantic comedy and has come out well. All of us had a great time shooting for it. Director Ezhil is a wonderful person who would never get angry with any of us. He must have obviously realised that there is no point scolding incorrigible people like us.”
Ezhil, however, was visibly moved by the support the crew and the cast of the film accorded him. The director, in particular, thanked his friends Ranjeev Menon and Ambed Kumar, who chose to produce his film.
