Shilpa Shetty's 'The Desire' to be screened at New York film fest

Shilpa Shetty in the 'The Desire,' which has been selected for the New York City International Film Festival.

‘The Desire,' a Hindi feature film scripted and directed by R. Sarath, has been selected to the New York City International Film Festival, 2011. It will be screened on August 24. Produced by Sunanda Shetty under the banner of Ten Golden Star, and co-produced by Shi yun, the film is perhaps the first Indo-Chinese collaborative production.

Shilpa Shetty and Chinese actor Xia Yu play the lead roles. Anupam Kher, Jayapradha, Vikram Gokhale, and Asif enact important characters in the movie. Sankar Ehsan Loy and Viswamohan Bhat have composed the music. Shot in Kerala, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Andhra Pradesh in India and in various locales in Malayasia,

‘The Desire' is a passionate story about dance, music, art, and love that knows no borders. This film has won the best narrative feature film award in the Geneva International Film Festival, where the film was premiered.
