Mumbai Express - Juggling act

Deepika Padukone is currently shooting for two major films — Rohit Shetty’s Chennai Express with Shah Rukh Khan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus Ram Leela opposite Ranveer Singh. And while the actress is happy essaying two well-delineated roles she is not finding it easy juggling between them. Says Deepika: “In Ram Leela , I play a Gujarati girl while in Chennai Express , I play a Tamilian. So I have been working really hard on getting the accent and body language right in both. The characters are very different and I am shooting simultaneously. I hope I have done good job.”

On a new pitch

Not just acting, Ayushmann Khurrana is also winning accolades for his singing talent. His rendering of ‘Pani da rang’ from

Vicky Donor has done him a lot of good. It has brought to the film industry’s notice his many talents. Says the actor, “I never thought the song will fetch me recognition. As a kid I learnt classical music but never took it seriously. Now I have started training again and do

riyaaz five days a week.” What’s more, Ayushmann will be singing in some of his future projects too. “I am singing in

Nautanki Saala and

Hamara Bajaj .” But he clarifies: “There is no desperation to sing. If the director wants me to sing, I will.”
