Girls, guys and guns – sounds alluring right? While the deadly trio does sound endearing, on the flipside, the movie doesn't do much.

Storyline

Being brought up in an environment to constantly hate each other, Parma (Arjun Kapoor) and Zoya (Parineeti Chopra) belong to two different political parties (and entirely different castes) while their fathers are pitted against each other in the ongoing elections.

However, things take a rather rash turn when the two fall in love and get married, causing a war. How the two let their love prevail above all, forms the rest of the story.

Performances

Debutant Arjun Kapoor as Parma plays an aggressive Lucknowi to a tolerable extent, until his sheepish smile irks extra long glares from the audience. Though it might have not been a dream debut, his performance passes for a decent one.

On the contrary, it is one film-old Parineeti Chopra who carries the film on her shoulders with her spontaneous and hard-hitting performance as Zoya.

Playing a youngster fascinated by politics is no easy task and Parineeti has done a fabulous job. The rest of the cast, (think brothers and “item girls”) have done a fair and commendable job. Music director, Amit Trivedi has done a fine job with the music.

Bottomline: To put in simple words, “Ishaqzaade” turns out to be yet another love story .
