There are nine numbers in the album and three are repeated by different singers. The two best numbers are ‘Thamizh Thamizh’ and ‘Thirukkural,’ which are sung by SPB and written by Aruppukottai Thavasi Mani. ‘Tamizh Tamizh’ is sung again by SPB along with Chitra and S.A. Rajkumar. It is rendered once again by the music director and Chitra. ‘Thirukkural’ is again sung by SPB, this time joined by the music director. ‘Nayagan,’ sung by Kalyani, Vijay Yesudas and the music director, makes for pleasant listening. The same song is repeated, once by Kalyani and again by the music director. ‘Va Va Vennilave’ written by Anthiyur Nithya is a beautiful duet by Swetha Mohan and Mukesh. It is rendered once again as a solo by Swetha.

Producer Devayani: As artistes, very few people have crossed the half century mark in recent times. When I came to know that it was going to be my 75th film, I was happy and decided to produce it myself. Who better than my husband to direct the film, especially since he has directed me in all his directorial ventures? What’s more, he has also played the hero in the movie and has done a good job of it.
Director and hero Raajakumaran: I have directed three films — Nee Varuvai Ena, Vinnukkum Mannukkum, Kadhaludan and now, Thirumathi Thamizh . As I love Thamizh, I have recorded two catchy songs, one of which has a patriotic feel. For the first time, two contests aimed at kindling interest in the language have been announced carrying a prize of Rs.1 lakh each. I want the younger generation to know more about the language and its literature.
Music director S.A. Rajkumar: I am happy that I got a chance to score the music for this film. It gave me scope to compose a variety of songs to suit different situations. The title song, ‘Thamizh,’ rendered by S. P. Balasubramaniam, is appealing.
