Ezhu Sundara Rathrikal, starring Dileep, Rima Kallingal and Murali Gopy, will go on air today. Its USP is that it has been directed by ad man Prakash Varma, who is one of the three producers of the movie, the other two being ad filmmaker Rathish Ambat and Jerry John Kallat. It is for the first time that Prakash has directed a film song. Prakash? Well, it is his Nirvana Films that shot the famous Zoozoo characters for Vodafone, Incredible India campaign, ‘Your Moment is Waiting’ ad for Kerala Tourism and a whole lot of television commercials. He has directed music videos for Hariharan and Adnan Sami.

The big budget song, ‘Pettidaam aarum…’, composed by Prashant Pillai and written by Rafeeq Ahamed, has been sung by Aalaap Raju. “It has been conceptualised in a different way by Prakash. Usually, promo videos have scenes from the movie. But Prakash has brought in new visuals exclusively for the song. It has been shot by his own crew from Mumbai and post production work has also been done there. Moreover, cinematographer K.U. Mohanan was brought on board exclusively for the song,” says Rathish, who himself is set to debut as a filmmaker next year with Dileep, Fahadh Faasil and Murali Gopy in the cast. Ezhu Sundara Rathrikal is scheduled to release on December 20.
