The soundtrack has six songs. That the music director has a Carnatic background shows in his compositions. Singer-turned-lyricist Harish Raghavendra deserves a pat for ‘Modern Kalyanam’ as the lines aptly capture the situation. The song is sung by Nikitha, Megha and Harini. ‘Mella Sirithai’ is a melodious duet by Haricharan and Chinmayi and written by Sakthi and Muthamizh. ‘Kalyanam 2.0’ is a song on the wedding rituals sung by Keerthana and the music director. ‘Palluponaraja’ is written by Srikanth and sung by Sangeetha Rajeswaran and actor Prasanna. Actor Prasanna has done a good job of the singing. ‘Kaadhal Marandhaayadaa’ written by Harish Raghavendra and sung by Keerthana and the music director is yet another good number.

Producers Ananth Govindan and Arun Vaidyanathan: Both of us are in the U.S. and we jointly produced our first Tamil feature film

Achamundu Achamundu (which was also Arun’s first directorial venture). Director Prasanna approached us with this story four years ago. Though we liked the line, we could not take it up as we were caught up with other work. When nobody came forward to fund the project till recently, we decided to back it. I have seen the rushes and am sure of the film’s success.

Director Prasanna R.S.: I am a gold medallist in direction from the L.V. Prasad Film and Television Academy. I was a writer for Santosh Sivan and did some short films. I am glad to have met producer Arun Vaidyanathan; he helped me fulfil my dream of becoming a director. Actor Prasanna has sung a song for the first time. Similarly singer Harish Raghavendra has turned lyricist with this film and penned two songs. The film is laced with humour and has an interesting twist in the climax.

Hero Prasanna: Working for Arun Vaidhyanathan is nothing new to me. Whether it is his direction or his production, it’s fun all the way. When he contacted me with the story I was happy to do the film. Director Prasanna, my namesake, has come up with an interesting script woven around a traditional marriage in a contemporary society. It was a riot even during shooting. We will miss the fun. Music director Arorra: I am a flautist and have worked for various music directors such as A.R. Rahman, G.V. Prakash Kumar and Vishal-Shekar in Hindi. I have also composed the music for nearly 60 advertisement films and have worked for more than half a dozen short films. When I got this offer, I was happy as this is my first film — since it is about marriage I consider it lucky for me. After the release of the CD, I am getting a lot of appreciation.
