On location: To Noora with Love - All about Noora

Babu Narayanan’s To Noora with Love, starring Mamta Mohandas and Krish J. Sathar, is a family entertainer.

The palatial house at Vengalam, near Kozhikode, is all decked up. So is Mamta Mohandas as Noora. She is the blushing bejewelled bride, attired in a green lehenga with with a pink dupatta draped over her head.

To Noora with Love is directed by Babu Narayanan of the director-duo Anil-Babu that made movies such as

Sthreedhanam, Pattabhishekam, Mannadiyar Penninu Chenkotta Chekkan and

Kudumbavishesham .

Mamta is soon joined on screen by Kaniha, who is dressed in a black-and-purple salwar. Archana Kavi, in a white sari and purple blouse, arrives a little later. Meanwhile, choreographer Shanthi is giving instructions directions to a group of dancers.

The director explains the scene that is being shot: “It is Noora’s the wedding. She is marrying Shajahan (Krish J. Sathar). Kaniha plays Shajahan’s older sister, while Archana plays Sreeparvathi, Noora’s best friend,” says Babu.

As the title suggests, the film revolves around Noora. “It is a strong character and that is why I decided to do it,” says Mamta. Also in the frame are the dancing girls, who begin swaying to the song, ‘Swarnappattin...’, under the direction of Shanthi’s instructions. Then Archana puts on her dancing shoes and impresses the choreographer.

Up next are the male dancers, all dressed in sherwanis. Krish, looking smart in an off-white dhoti and a full-sleeved shirt, and Ramesh Pisaharody join in the dance. That shot complete, the director summons Mamukoya, Kozhikode Narayanan Nair and Kalabhavan Nias for the next scene. The shooting goes on late into the night.

Later, Krish says: “Mine is an interesting role; and I am happy that I am playing this lead role after debuting with Ladies and Gentlemen. there is plenty of scope for me to emote in this movie.”

The director elaborates: “This will be an entertainer, like most of the films I have directed along with Anil. Music would be one of the highlights of the film.” Mohan Sithara has composed the music, while lyrics have been written by Vayalar Sharath Chandra Varma. Alagappan is the cinematographer. The cast also includes Nedumudi Venu, Mukesh, Ambika, Sreedevi Unni, Biyon, Munna and Madhupal. Stills are by Saleesh Peringottukara.

To Noora with Love , produced by Mohammed Ansar under the banner of Don Bros, will arrive in cinemas in May.
