Kannakkol: Hitting the right notes

Kannakkol is produced by V. Ramadoss and written and directed by V.A. Kumarasen. The story revolves around a youth and how he goes about burgling homes. The cast includes Bharani, Karunya Ram, Ganja Karuppu, Theepetti Ganesan, Ilavarasu, Charlie, Singamuthu and Rajkapoor. The film has cinematography by Sri Selva, music composed by Bobby, lyrics by Muthuvijayan, editing by Suresh Ars. The first audio was released by director Keyar and received by directors V. Sekar and Samuthirakani.

Producer V. Ramadoss: I have produced films such as Haridas and Puthagam . When the director narrated the story of Kannakkol to me, I liked it. I am sure the film will go down well with the audience.

Director V.A. Kumaresan: I have been in the film industry for the past 20 years, working under various directors.

Kannakkol marks my directorial debut. As the film revolves around a thief and his way of life, I have told the story in a comical way. With family sentiment and good music, it will be an enjoyable watch.

Hero Bharani: I started my acting career with director Balaji Shakthivel’s Kalloori . Nadodigal got me a good name. I’ve landed my first lead role in Kannakkol .

Music director Bobby: I am a guitarist and keyboard player. I have worked with various music directors. Harris Jayaraj’s father Jayakumar and I used to work together. Sollamale marked my debut. I took a break due to health reasons. Now I am back with Kannakkol .

Music highlights: The five-track album opens with the hummable ‘Kamma Karaiyoram’ sung by Jose. ‘Uchimalai Pullaiyare,’ sung by Haricharan, is a track that will induce you to tap your feet. While ‘Athamaga Pudikavillai,’ sung by Velmurugan and Thanjai Chinnaponnu, is a fast-paced number with a folksy touch, ‘Asaiasaiyai,’ sung by Vijay Prakash and Madhushree, is a beautiful melody that hits all the right notes. ‘Suthi Irukku Ettu Thesanthan,’ sung well by Pavan, wraps up the album.
