From God’s Own Country
The latest import from Kerala to Kollywood is model and classical dancer Sruthy Bala who plays the heroine in A. Venkatesh’s directorial, Romba Nallavan Da Nee. “When he narrated the script to me, I found it so hilarious that I readily agreed to do it. Cast opposite me are ‘Mirchi’ Senthil and ‘Robo’ Shankar. I play a bold working girl in an IT company in the city. Romba Nallavan Da Nee is a romantic comedy and gives me a lot of scope to explore my acting abilities,” says Sruthy.

Director Pandiraj’s next venture, Haiku, has several kids playing the lead roles. Known for making films based on children, like Pasanga and Marina , Pandiraj says, “ Haiku will complete my trilogy of films revolving around children. Haiku features Bindu Madhavi in an important role, while Suriya and Amala Paul appear as guest stars. Like my earlier films, Haiku is about the world of children and will be a beautiful experience for viewers.” Incidentally, the film is being produced by Suriya’s 2D Entertainment.
Shaam’s 25 film
He made his debut with 12 B and now, after 13 years and films in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada, actor Shaam is getting ready for the release of his 25th film, Porambokku . “I entered the industry as a youngster. I have learnt a lot through cinema. I consider Jeeva’s (director of 12B ) acquaintance as the most valuable. Similarly, S.P. Jananathan’s Iyarkai is an important movie in my career, as it is a National Award-winning film. Jananathan is directing my 25th film which is really a matter of great happiness and pride,” says Shaam.
