What is it all about?
Produced by K. Tripura Sundari for Tripura Sundhari Cine Creations, the film is directed by Vijayananda. Viswanath Balaji and Divya Padmini play the lead. Ponvannan, Lakshmi Ramakrishnan, Livingston, Mayilsamy, Charlie, Iswarya and Manobala form the supporting cast. The music is scored by Srimurali. K. S. Ramakrishna has handled the camera. Kamalesh Kumar has taken care of the story and dialogue while Anil Malnat is the editor.

Director K. S. Ravikumar released the first copy of the audio which was received by a host of dignitaries — producers ‘Sathyajothi' Thyagarajan, Muralidharan, Thenappan and T. Siva and carrom champion Ilavazhagi.
Music highlights
The album comprises five songs. ‘Lali Lali Kadhali', a duet by Karthik and Ujaini, is the best of the lot; Kabilan has penned the lyrics. ‘Vanthenda Vettriku Veeranai,' written by the same lyricist and sung by Mukesh, is a kuthu number targeted at the masses. ‘Engu Selveno' in the voice of Haricharan is good; it's written by Shanmugaseelan. ‘Thottadhu Thottadhu Vettriyagum,' written by Ugabharathi and sung by Ranjith and Suchithra with Rap Biggnickk, is fast-paced. ‘Vanam Enthan' has some beautiful lines by Na. Muthukumar; it is sung by Swarmuki.

Producer K. Tripura Sundhari: When I decided to make a film, I called up director Vijayananda. We met in my office — my son Viswanath Balaji happened to be there. On seeing him, the director told me he had found his hero and that he had a storyline just right for Viswanath. That is how my son ended up playing the hero in Vilayada Vaa .
Director Vijayananda: This is my debut movie in Tamil. I have earlier directed one in Telugu. Vilayada Vaa is a carrom-based movie. The movie abounds in fun, family sentiment, love and action. The story is all about a guy who loves carrom, but struggles to become a champion. How he realises his dream forms the climax.
Music director Srimurali: So far, I have scored the music for 16 films in Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. Vilayada Vaa marks my debut in Tamil. I am glad director Vijayananda provided me with different situations for the five songs which enabled me to prove my talent. I should also thank him for giving me enough time to do the re-recording.
Hero Viswanath Balaji: When I was chosen to play the hero, I decided to give it my all. Beginning with rigorous work-outs to keep my body trim, I went on to learn dancing and stunts to remain flexible. When we began shooting, I was happy I could perform to the director's satisfaction.
