Please Don’t Disturb , the opening film of the International Film Festival of Kerala 2010, beginning in Thiruvananthapuram on Friday, focuses on the problems being faced by ordinary men and women in Iran’s capital Tehran.
Written and directed by Mohsen Abdolvahab, the film portrays the issues objectively, adopting a documentary style approach.
The director weaves three stories into the film set against present day Tehran. The first is about a woman who is making efforts to report abuse by her husband. The second is of a Mullah who loses his wallet and gets it back through negotiations with a smart thief. The third story is about a television mechanic who encounter a difficult appointment with a suspicious elderly couple.

The festival handbook says that the movie ‘concisely depicts how easily the values, convictions or human sympathy can be shaken by an insignificant incident, and how easily these can be compromised’.
Please Don’t Disturb is the first feature film of Abdolvahab who has mainly worked on documentary films before. He has associated with Iranian female filmmaker Rakshan Bani-Etemad in making documentaries such as Mainline (2006). His documentaries Haj Abbas' Wives (2001) and Khoon Bazi (2006) won him international recognition.
The film is produced by Mohammed Ahmadi who has also done the photography for the film. Editing is by Sepideh Abdolvahab, sound by Yadollah Najafi and music by Fardin Khal'tbari. The cast includes Baran Kowsari, Afshin Hashemi, Hedayat Hashemi, Shirin, Yazadanbakhsh, Mohsen Kazemi and Hamed Behdad.

The film will be screened at the Nisagandhi Auditorium immediately after the inaugural ceremony and cultural programmes on Friday evening. It has been featured earlier at the Pusan International Film Festival.
