Music Director Bharani

You've given a few hits, but you've never hit the top spot.

I was introduced by director S.A. Chandrasekar in Periyanna , with Vijayakanth in the lead. Then came films such as Paarvai Ondre Podhume , Charlie Chaplin , with hit numbers. I've done 24 films so far, and the recent Veluthu Kattu is my 25th. I've composed music for six Telugu films and one Kannada film too. I have half-a-dozen Tamil films in hand now. But, I've not reached the top spot because I've not bagged big budget films. Sometimes it needs a star-spangled film to gain popularity.

music direction?

Of course. Sadly, what has become equally essential is the backing of an industry bigwig. Without such backing, I've struggled my way through, to reach where I am. I hope to be on top someday.

What's your dream?

To give evergreen hits. I'd also like to release a private album similar to A.R. Rahman's ‘Vande Mataram'. But then, all these can happen only with backing and monetary support.
