After your first film Arindum Ariyamalum , why did you stop acting?

I was more interested in production than acting. As I am not in India permanently, I plan to do it at my own pace.

It shouldn't be difficult to produce films, if you have the money.

Coming to India and producing a movie is not easy. Not only keeping the accounts, every aspect of filmmaking has to be taken care of as well. I am happy that I have been able to produce not one but three films. My fourth production,

Narthagi , is getting ready.

You've acted in all your productions, including the recent one Narthagi ?

Yes, all are small but good roles. As I told you, I'm not very much interested in acting, so I'm not concentrating on it. Basically, I am a radio jockey in Malaysia. I've been working for THR Raga, a popular station there, from the day of its inception, 10 years ago. It has been a great experience and I love talking to my fans.

You don't want to do major roles in films…

If I get good roles, I would; but it will be on my own terms. Do you think women are the most exploited in the film industry?

If you asked me this a few years ago, I would have said ‘Yes'. But now things have changed and nobody can cheat the other person. Everybody knows what is happening in the industry; everything has become transparent now.

Acting, production… will direction follow next?

As I don't know anything about direction, I will certainly not venture into it.
