At the long running Whitefield Music Festival for Indian classical music, this time there is free entry to concerts by a whole spectrum of artistes. The main draws remain sarod veteran Pandit Rajeev Taranath (who is joined by Nayan Ghosh on tabla) on day one. Taranath says, “The sarod concert at Town Hall by maestro Ali Akbar Khan has changed my life. Learning from him and being reprimanded by him was a glorious experience. I consider my teacher’s blessings the most precious thing in my life. I appreciate Anand Dhwani’s initiative of organising such rare and unique jugalbandis in the heart of the city.”

This edition includes Italian party-starter Hunter/Game, veteran DJ-producer Arjun Vagale, underground seasoned DJ-producer Kohra and DJs such as Browncoat, Audio Units, Shash & Chaz and V-Vek.

Chennai’s indie rock frontrunners

showcase an electronic streak to them that ranges from moody synths to full-blown dubstep-level meltdowns. It is that kind of diversity and even unpredictability that put the band amongst the must-see performers in the country. On the back of releasing their second record WKND FRNDS, The F16s return to their second home in Bengaluru to perform at Hyatt Centric Hotel. While members have also dived into their separate projects, The F16s still bring together a familiar melancholic, but party-happy vibe with songs like ‘Amber’, ‘Moonchild’ and ‘Jacuzzi’.
