Vijay Deverakonda in the ‘Dear Comrade’ trailer

The trailer of the much-anticipated Telugu film Dear Comrade was released on Thursday morning, starring the pair of Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna who had earlier captured the fancy of audiences nationally with Geetha Govindam .

The teaser released in March already raised expectations, and now the trailer sheds more light on the plot of the film. Deverakonda is shown playing a fiery student leader in college (shades of his breakthrough Arjun Reddy role comes through), while Mandanna takes on the role of a cricketer playing for the state. The intense chemistry between the two is obvious, with several scenes serving as a reminder from their earlier Inkem Inkem viral number. The movie is expected to be a romantic drama set amidst Telengana student politics. The scenes from the trailer oscillate between the past and present, and also shows Deverakonda embarking on an epic journey on his motorbike to reunite with his lost love.
