• Rukshana, who hails from Nagaon in Assam, discovered films rather late. Her parents didn't encourage watching films. One of the few films she watched that she remembers is Satyajit Ray’s Sonar Kella. It was when she came to Delhi, and worked in an ad agency that she started watching films, based on recommendations from friends and colleagues. “FTII introduced me to the world of films, and to the technical aspect of films.” She traces her inclination to make films for children to the influence of her mother, a Montessori teacher.
