Kamal Haasan and Prabhu starrer, Vetri Vizha , which was released in 1989, had a 175-day run. The film, directed by Prathap Pothen, is being readied for a re-release this year, and has been digitally restored with 5.1 DTS format by Deva of Darwin Pictures. The film was produced by Sivaji Productions, and music was composed by Ilaiyaraaja. Deva says, “We have digitally enhanced all portions of the film and have added extra effects where the original BGM is not done. We have not tampered with the original BGM of Ilaiyaraaja, but have enhanced the aural qualities of the songs to suit the present-day viewing and listening experience,” says Deva about the film that is scheduled for a re-release by the end of this month or August.
