A film that spawned heated debates and think pieces is here in Tamil, in the form of Adithya Varma , a remake of Telugu blockbuster Arjun Reddy , the audio and trailer for which was launched today. The event barely begun when enthusiastic fans gave the moniker: ‘Chinna Chiyaan’, when Dhruv Vikram made his entry. Everything about Dhruv — the way he carries himself to his energy — may remind you of the lead in Sethu , after which his father was christened with the name Chiyaan . But Dhruv makes no bones about admitting the fact that he carries his father’s genes. “I am what I am today because of my parents. People told me that they see an impulsive Vikram in Adithya Varma . That is true,” he said, adding, “My father is known for his dedication. He went the extra mile to make this film happen.”
Vikram, on the other hand, said that he was “nervous like a 12 grade student waiting for results, as opposed to his son”. Acknowledging the support of the direction department, he said that he was present the whole time to make sure everything went smoothly, without any hiccups. We have made this movie with a lot of heart. Our producer [Mukesh Mehta] believed in Arjun Reddy and we have retained the director's [Sandeep Vanga Reddy] vision,” he said. Cinematographer Ravi K Chandran is making a comeback in Tamil following a brief gap. Interestingly, his son Santhana Krishnan worked as the cinematographer for Kabir Singh . Adithya Varma also stars Banita Sandhu, known for her breakout performance in October , and Priya Anand.
