This one tops my list for its impeccable screenplay by Richard Curtis. One of the best British romantic comedies with a superb cast and excellent direction by Mike Newell.

Four Weddings And A Funeral

Cinema Paradiso

The film is about a charming boy’s passion for cinema. This Oscar-winning film beautifully portrays the friendship between a young boy (Toto) and the theatre’s projector operator (Alfredo).

Masaan

The layers of emotions in this story are deep and mesmerising. The play of interconnections are intriguing as well. Excellent cast and background score by Indian Ocean.

About Time

A beautiful love story, with a bit of time travel thrown in. It showcases the subtleties of happiness that we miss in our lives and inspires us to live life to the fullest.

About Time

Wadjda

The first Saudi Arabian feature to be directed by a woman and shot in the suburbs of Riyadh. It is about a 10-year-old girl Wadjda, who wants to buy a green bicycle to race against her friend Abdullah. It also shows the complex culture and curbs on women in Saudi society.
